After 91 years of life and more than a quarter century of having established one of the feared terror regimes, Chilean General Augusto Pinochet has died in the quiet calm of a hospital in your country surrounded by his people.
Pinochet has died of what people must die, of old, not a jackboot oppression, or a shot from the opposite gate opposes the ideas that differ from theirs.
Behind has been the idea of \u200b\u200bjustice. The possibility of reconciling Chileans with their thousands of memory, what happened to their loved ones as a key step in a necessary process of healing emotionally and mentally that require all those who still suffer the consequences of September 11, 1973.
But curiously, so unless Augusto Pinochet in the course of justice was not the decisive action by his lawyers that legally and politically justified the need for the 1973 coup and subsequent killings, detentions and disappearances of thousands Chileans at the hands of the dreaded "Operation Condor ."
Pinochet What saved from prison, not the international public humiliation, was to appeal to the compassion aroused in some old and sick body, compassion that neither he nor his ruthless associates were able to feel during the dark period of terror experienced by Chile.
The future does not appear yet clear. The fact that Augusto Pinochet is still considered an honorary member of the Chilean army, " to save Chile from the clutches of Marxism " only shows how far is this army of the institutional and non-deliberative and reason being of the military corps, and how close terror as a valid tool when deemed necessary.
But despite this, and the alien hordes of supporters who still wake up the fateful actions of Pinochet, Chilean both sides must do everything in their power to recover memory, grieve not for her, but to remember every day that terror is an alternative worse than the worst of politics. The tragic past
Chile should be a lesson for the times to come, that the interference of third countries are likely to imperialist weapons or oil left are always negative. One thing is solidarity and the common path of fraternal peoples that are built on shared struggles, and the imposition of a very different routes and sides of the table, one or other perks, because the sides are not the problem, the problem is to have to choose which side you are.
